John Edge Jones makes music for the in-between places, the stretch of highway between memory and meaning, between home and heartbreak. With a sound rooted in alternative country rock, his songs echo with the dust of Texas roads and the ache of stories too true to forget.

Born and raised in Fort Worth, John grew up in a family deeply involved in inner-city homeless ministry, where compassion and community were everyday essentials. Music was everywhere—gospel hymns, church choirs, Southern soul, punk rock energy—all of it shaped his ear for emotionally honest storytelling.

In 2009, John moved to Australia, where he built a life, a family, and a quiet ache for the music he’d set aside. But the dream never truly left. In 2024, after nearly giving up, a series of unexpected encouragements led him to a friend’s cabin in the woods of Dwellingup, where he recorded his debut album with producer Grant Konemann.

Taking his name from his grandfather, a larger-than-life man born the same day decades earlier, John brings legacy into the present. Several tracks are shaped by stories pulled from cassette tapes of his grandfather’s voice—reminiscing about growing up 12 miles in the woods during the Great Depression.

The result is a deeply personal yet universal collection of songs; Stables, Green Apple Quick Step, Shotgun, Cheap Whiskey, that reflect themes of identity, struggle, and home. With lyrical honesty and a voice that holds both gravel and grace, John invites listeners into a world where every chord tells a story, and every story matters.
